Petunia Pug

Sweet Petunia Pug is a doll baby that was found as a stray and made her way to PPR.  We believe she is about eight or nine years old.  She is super pint sized weighing just over 12lbs!

We noticed very quickly when she came into rescue that she was drinking a lot of water.  We took her to the vet and found that she is diabetic.  We have made two adjustments to her insulin and she is now in the normal range.  She will need to continue to be on the insulin injections twice a day for the rest of her life.  To help manage her condition even further she is also on prescription food.  She is a champ at getting her shots and just lays there for it.  If you have never given them we can assure you that it is incredibly easy!  Her foster mom hates needles and has found the shots very easy to give.

Petunia Pug is a complete love and although her being diabetic has taken her eye sight she still follows her foster mom all over and will lay at her feet while she is cooking or doing dishes.  Don’t think you can sneak away though because this little lady knows when you move and she is hot on your trail!  She also loves for you to pick her up and snuggle on the couch.  Petunia basically ignores all the other dogs in her foster home.

She is current on vaccines and will be getting a dental before she is adopted out.  If you think this sweetheart is the girl for you get your application in today!  If you have questions about how to care for a diabetic pug please email me at pawsitivelypugsrescue@gmail.com.  It is not hard!
